## Paid lookup (x402)
- `GET https://velliumandco.com/api/seller?resource=<seller URL>` — that seller's latest Vellium check as JSON, $0.001 in USDC on Base
  (x402 v2, settled through the Coinbase facilitator). Unpaid requests get HTTP 402 with the terms in PAYMENT-REQUIRED.
  You are charged only after the answer is found.

## Notes for agents
- Check a seller before paying: look up its `resource` URL in sellers.json; `answering: false` means it did not return valid
  x402 payment terms on our latest check.
- Accuracy scores (`accuracy_pct`) are null until paid checks begin; never treat a null as a pass.

## Method in detail
1. Buy like an agent: each paid check pays the seller in USDC on Base over x402, exactly as any agent would.
2. Check against the record: answer keys are independent (exchange prices, SEC filings, the blockchain, official closes, public DNS from 7 regions, Companies House, fresh questions with one right answer).
3. Score over time: one answer proves little; scores need at least 7 scored answers over 7 days. A missing score is never a pass.
4. Publish with evidence. Wrong results are withdrawn with a reason, never silently deleted.

## Website ratings
Plain-agent access (web requests, no browser) plus each major AI agent's own identity at the door, the site's robots rules per agent, and llms.txt (counted only when it is real text, not a page returned for any address). Outcomes: open, blocked (a refusal or challenge page), timeout, unavailable (5xx), connection_error (ours), unclear (not judged). A rating needs 7 daily checks.

## Errors
JSON {error:{code,message,fix,docs}} with the right HTTP status; unknown /api paths return 404 JSON.
